Top 10 Backlist Books I Need to Read

TTT

Hello, hello!! It has been three months since my last post, as school has eaten up all of my time, but I am back for a Top Ten Tuesday post!! I am finally through my first semester of college, and now I have some time off for winter break! I am planning on using that time to catch up on blogging, as I have a LOT to talk about, book-wise! Anyways, today’s TTT, hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl, is a freebie topic, so I am using it as an opportunity to use a topic that I missed: backlist books. Some of you may remember that I am technically doing the Backlist Reader Challenge this year (though I have not been very successful), thus there are many backlist books I still need to read!

1. Allegiant by Veronica Roth

Hi, I’m JoBeth and I still haven’t read Allegiant. I FINALLY read the first two books earlier this year, and I enjoyed them, but I have failed to read the third one. Maybe I can listen to the audiobook, because I have recently discovered the incredible magic powers of audiobooks and it has changed my life.

2. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

I received a free copy of this book during a library summer reading program, and have yet to read it. It sounds really good, and I’ve heard so many great reviews!

3. Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard

I’m interested to see what this one is all about, as there are so many mixed reviews. Maybe it would be a good audiobook choice as well.

4. The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken

I quite enjoyed the movie adaptation, and I’m curious to see how it compares to the book. The ideas were certainly interesting, so hopefully I can get to this one soon!

5. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix by J.K. Rowling

I have only read the first four books of the great Harry Potter series, but I have finally watched all the movies. This book is just so large and intimidating…

6. Love and Gelato by Jenna Evans Welch

This story just sounds so cute and fun, and sometimes you just need a book that will make you happy. I will have to keep this one in mind the next time I am in need of such a book!

7. All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr

I have wanted to read this book for a reeaaallly long time but I still haven’t. Honestly, I’m kind of disappointed in myself. I just love the title and the story sounds great. Even though, it is not my usual YA, I greatly look forward to reading this book soon.

8. Wink Poppy Midnight by April Genevieve Tucholke

I bought this book in hardcover at a bookstore sale, and it gives me serious We Were Liars vibes. Hopefully it turns out interesting!

9. More Kasie West books

I have only read a couple (maybe three?) of Kasie West’s books, and I really enjoy them! I know there’s often not a lot to them, but again sometimes you just need a light, fun read.

10. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

This is not extremely backlisted, but still I think it is a must-read. I have heard so many incredible things about this book and the message it conveys, and I would like to eventually experience for myself what it is all about.

What are some of the backlist books you need to read? Link me to your TTT!

  2. I haven’t read Allegiant either! I’m not sure if I would read it though as there has been a decline in my liking the second book.

All the Light We Cannot See has been in my TBR for the longest time! I should also find time to finally read it!
