Happy Tuesday! Today is another Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. We are listing our top most anticipated releases for the first half of 2019, and there are lots of amazing ones! It was difficult to narrow down my top choices (so I have a few more than ten), but even then there are still tons more wonderful books being released this year! It’s going to be hard to keep at those backlist books, but either way it should be a fantastic reading year! Without further ado, my most anticipated releases!
1. The Cerulean by Amy Ewing
Release Date: February 5, 2019
This book sounds like an interesting sci-fi fantasy mix, and I’m eager to see what it’s all about! Plus, I love colors, and I’m always drawn in by unique color names! (Also, it’s blue for Blue Binding!!)
2. To Best the Boys by Mary Weber
Release Date: March 5, 2019
This one seems like a fun mix between The Testing and The Hunger Games!
3. Lovely War by Julie Berry
Release Date: March 5, 2019
A story told from the Greek goddess Aphrodite’s point of view? Now that seems interesting!
4. You Asked for Perfect by Laura Silverman
Release Date: March 5, 2019
I know exactly what it feels like to be pressured by others and yourself to be perfect in school, and the mention of music and calculus always seem to draw me in. This book sounds like it will be infinitely relatable.
5. Shadow Me by Tahereh Mafi
Release Date: March 5, 2019
This is book 4.5 in the Shatter Me series, and I am sooo excited!!! It is a novella, but we also get a full book as well…
6. Defy Me by Tahereh Mafi
Release Date: April 2, 2019
Book 5 in the Shatter Me series!!! I am ecstatic!!! Two Shatter Me books only a month apart? Hello, reread of Restore Me!
7. The Princess and the Fangirl by Ashley Poston
Release Date: April 2, 2019
I loved Geekerella, and it is so exciting to have another story set in the same world!
8. Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett
Release Date: April 16, 2019
I have been dying to read some of Jenn Bennett’s books, but I have yet to do so. Hopefully 2019 will be the year! And, books involving books and authors are always bound to be great!
9. Aurora Rising by Jay Kristoff and Amie Kaufman
Release Date: May 7, 2019
These two authors are basically the science fiction dream duo. Anything they write is destined to be fabulous!
10. Again, but Better by Christine Riccio
Release Date: May 7, 2019
I’m all about books featuring college students these days, thus I am super excited about this one!
11. There’s Something About Sweetie by Sandhya Menon
Release Date: May 14, 2019
I adored Menon’s When Dimple Met Rishi, and I’m eager to see where the story can go with Rishi’s brother as the main character!
12. A Sky Without Stars by Jessica Brody and Joanne Rendell
Release Date: May 26, 2019
Something similar to The Lunar Chronicles? Yes please! I have to say I don’t know much about Les Miserables, but I’m sure a combination of the two will be great!
Yes, “Again, But Better” does sound good.
This is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
