Top 10 Standalones that Need a Sequel

Happy Tuesday, everyone! I have not been very active on here lately due to school, but I have a break and have several posts planned. Anyways, it’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday post hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl! This week’s topic is standalone books that need a sequel. I had to do a little digging for this topic, as it seems like the majority of books are part of a series these days. Though, I have found some wonderful books that definitely need a sequel!

1. Emergency Contact by Mary H.K. Choi

This is actually a pretty recent read, and I fell in love with the characters and all their anxious quirks. I also enjoyed reading about older teens who are in college, as there aren’t as many YA books featuring older characters. I DEFINITELY need more of Sam and Penny in my life!

2. Radio Silence by Alice Oseman

I adored the friendships in this book, and the drastic changes these characters went through. I would love to see how their lives continue to pan out!

3. A Thousand Perfect Notes by C.G. Drews

In case you haven’t heard already, this book will destroy you in the best possible way. I just adore Beck and Joey and August, and I wish we could see what takes place after the final events in this story!

4. Nimona by Noelle Stevenson

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this graphic novel. It is just so fun and sweet and amazing and I wanted it to go on forever. I was kind of shocked by the ending, but if we disregard that, the story is wonderful!

5. The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon

This was such a sweet book, and I really enjoyed the connections between Natasha and Daniel. I would love to see how their lives continue after the main events in the story!

6. Heartless by Marissa Meyer

I really enjoyed this book, even though I don’t know much about Alice in Wonderland. I felt that Cath was a lovely character and her baking sounds amazing!! I definitely could use more stories about Cath before her time as and evil queen.

What standalones do you feel need a sequel? Link me to your TTT!
