Hello, and happy Tuesday! This means it’s time for another Top Ten Tuesday post, hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. Today we are looking back to our books read in 2018 to see which new authors we read and loved! I always love looking back on the books I’ve read over the past year, through various wrap-up posts and lists of different kinds. I found many wonderful new authors last year, and I am excited to share them with you!
1. Tahereh Mafi
I read all of the currently released books in the Shatter Me series (now all of which are some of my most favorite books), and A Very Large Expanse of Sea, which I loved as well! Her writing style is very different between these books, but I enjoyed it either way, and I’m eager for her next books!
2. Rae Carson
I enjoyed Walk on Earth a Stranger, and I would love to continue the series this year! This was a historical fiction, which is not a genre I usually read, but I was pleasantly surprised!
3. Gloria Chao
American Panda was a good, relatable story, and I’m interested to read any future books by Gloria Chao.
4. Veronica Roth
I finally got around to reading Divergent and Insurgent, and I plan on listening to the audiobook of Allegiant when school starts up again.
5. Cori McCarthy
I totally adored Now a Major Motion Picture! The characters and writing were amazing, and I loved all the nerdiness!
6. Tiffany Brooks
I was very surprised by Reality Gold. The story seemed interesting enough, but it turned out way better than I expected! I definitely hope to see more of her books in the future!
7. Ernest Cline
I finally read Ready Player One after seeing the movie, and I really enjoyed it! I wasn’t quite as blown away as I thought I would be, but definitely worth the read.
8. C.G. Drews
I have been reading Cait’s blog, Paper Fury, for years now, and I was thrilled to be able to read her first book, A Thousand Perfect Notes. Both the characters and writing were amazing, and I look forward to her second book!
9. Krystal Sutherland
I have been wanting to read Our Chemical Hearts for years now, but it wasn’t entirely what I expected. It was good, but I wasn’t blown away or anything.
10. Jenna Evans Welch
My final read of 2018 was Love & Gelato, and I am definitely in love! This was such a cute story, so Jenna Evans Welch will be one of my authors to look out for from now on!
