Hello fellow book lovers, and happy Tuesday! Today I have another Top Ten Tuesday post, hosted by Jana at That Artsy Reader Girl. We are once again reflecting on the things we’ve read in 2018, though this time we are focused on the books we didn’t get to. I have to say there are quite a few books I really wanted to read in 2018, and I just din’t have time to get to them. I’m really hoping that 2019 will be my year to kind of catch up on books I’m a bit behind on!
1. Obsidio by Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff
I reread Illuminae and Gemina in preparation for this book, and I still haven’t read it. I listened to the audio versions, and I loved the cast of characters and how they really brought the story to life!
2. The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas
I’ll admit I’m a little scared to read this one because of all the hype, as hyped books and I don’t seem to get along very well, but I still want to see what everyone is raving about.
3. Allegiant by Veronica Roth
Yeah. This book again. I’m going to listen to the audiobook soon.
4. The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton
I was really excited about this book for a while, then I just kind of forgot about it? But there’s a second one coming out this year, so I am re-motivated to read it!
5. Lifel1k3 by Jay Kristoff
This is another one I was super pumped about last year, as I loved the Illuminae Files so much. Again, there is a second book releasing this year, and I’m excited to see what the story is all about!
6. The Darkest Minds by Alexandra Bracken
This is a series I have wanted to read for a really long time, and I kind of forgot about it for a while. With the movie releasing last year, I rediscovered this book and I am eager to read it!
7. The Red Queen by Victoria Aveyard
I have been meaning to read this book for years. Maybe 2019 will be my year?
8. An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir
Again, this is another book I have been meaning to read for quite a while. I have heard so many great things, and maybe I can get to it this year!
9. Books 5-7 in the Harry Potter series
I have been meaning to read these final books forever. Really, book five is kind of daunting with all those pages, but I’m sure it’s worth it. Hopefully this will be my year to finish Harry Potter!
I hope you like The Hate U Give!
This is my Top Ten Tuesday post.
